The Mews is a luxury re-development of three self-catering apartments in an original Georgian courtyard. The courtyard sits within Burgage country house beside the river Barrow in Co. Carlow.

Re-invented from an 1800’s farm courtyard each apartment is a chic and welcoming refuge from the daily grind. The brainchild of Elizabeth & Victor Connolly, the buildings still sit as they were originally laid out with newly designed interiors featuring a clever and contemporary mix of old and new.

Located just off the M9 Motorway the Mews is only an hour from Dublin. It’s the perfect base to explore the Sunny South East of Ireland, with Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, & Wicklow right on your doorstep.

Each property has been lovingly restored. Recycled materials and eco-friendly methods were premium considerations. The resulting buildings are stylish, understated and super cosy places to stay.

- The Riverview apartment also has a wood burning stove. The wood is from the farm and is freely available.

These apartments all have upstairs elements which are not accessible for those with mobility issues.

The Riverview
The Riverview commands the east side of the courtyard overlooking the river Barrow facing down towards Mount Leinster. This is the largest apartment with two bedrooms & boasts a wood burning stove and gorgeous handpicked furnishings.
The Archway
The Archway is a perfect hideaway for a couples weekend. There is a cosy layout with all the things you need for a peaceful and relaxing stay.
It’s right beside the Cobbles and there is a wonderful shared courtyard below for breakfast al fresco.
The Cobbles
There was a grainstore where the Cobbles now stands and we have tried to keep many of the original features intact. Bathed in sunny morning light and blessed with thick walls and a very comfortable interior it’s the perfect base to explore or relax in.
