LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
The Mews is located conveniently just off the M9 at the gateway to the Sunny South East of Ireland. Located near Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow, 6 minutes from Junction 6 of the M9. We are 15 minutes to Carlow town and 20 minutes to Kilkenny city.
If you stay with us you will have easy access to Waterford city, Wexford, West Wicklow, Kildare, and Laois, and we are only an hour’s drive from Dublin. You can find out more about our area here.
We are ideally situated to explore and enjoy this wonderful peaceful and tranquil corner of Ireland where there is lots to see and do without the strain of more busy tourist locations. You may take your time and in leisurely fashion explore our great heritage, the wonderful scenery and gardens, coast, rivers and mountains. Best of all its largely all free to enjoy!
Burgage Stud itself is on the River Barrow and looks downriver to Mount Leinster. The Mews is in the middle of a stud farm, surrounded by mature trees, green fields and immersed in the wonder of nature. At each apartment there is a choice of several different itineraries depending on what you wish to do. These include how to spend a rainy day, what to see within a 20 minute radius, day visits, adventure days, walking maps and information, craft trails, and garden circuits. We want you to enjoy your stay with us and can help you discover local tips and best places to go. For those that wish to travel by public transport or take a day off from driving there are several public transport options. Mhuine Bheag railway station (also known as Bagenalstown) is 3 km away, and is on the Waterford – Dublin train line. Bus Eireann and JJ Kavanagh buses run approximately 19 buses daily to Dublin with return, on average taking 1.35 hours. We can help organise your travel plans.

Using the Eircode R93 RK35 is the most reliable way to find us.
Take N7 to M7 South
Exit M7 after Naas at Junction 11 to the M9
Exit M9 at Junction 6 to the R448
Follow the R448 for 5.9 km . You will see a yellow sign “No parking, entrance ahead” on your left – this is the entrance to Burgage Stud. Turn in left and follow the roadway to your right. At the top of this roadway turn sharp left, wait at the electric farm gate for it to open. Please drive slowly as it is a farm and there may be animals crossing at any point.
Pass the three houses on your left, bear left when you see stables. After the bend you will see an archway entrance to your right. This leads you to the courtyard at the back of the main house. Welcome -you have arrived at The Mews.
From Waterford:
Using the Eircode R93 RK35 is the most reliable way to find us.
Take the M9 towards Dublin to Junction 7.
Exit M9. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit, At the next roundabout take the 1st exit through Paulstown.
Travel on the R448 for 6.1km

Take the M8 towards Dublin and exit at Junction 4
Take the R693 to Kilkenny. As you come in to Kilkenny City take 1st exit at mini roundabout. Cross over the River Nore bridge to next roundabout.
Go straight through this roundabout to next roundabout and take 1st exit, past Lidl .
Turn right and take next left on to the M9 .
Take M9 option to Dublin to Junction 7.
